Police hunt for Herringthorpe delivery driver robbers

POLICE are hunting for two men who robbed a lorry driver in Herringthorpe. Officers want to speak with the people pictured in these CCTV stills, as part of an ongoing investigation into the November 3 incident.

At around 6.05am that day, the delivery driver pulled up outside the One Stop shop on Badsley Moor Lane. As he was unloading stock, two masked men approached and threatened him — one of them with a metal pole.

The suspects then fled the scene in a vehicle, possibly a small four-wheel drive, with a quantity of cigarettes, said a police spokeswoman.

The delivery driver was not injured during the attack.

Anyone who saw the robbery, or who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area, is urged to call police on 101 quoting incident 195 of November 3. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
