Petrol Station in Rotherham Cordoned off by Police after Man is Attacked

A petrol station in Rotherham has been cordoned off by police following an attack on a man in the forecourt.

The attack happened at the Jet Garage on Meadow Bank Road last night when a man in a car was attacked. South Yorkshire police said a man in a car suffered injuries and a vehicle then sped off.

A police chase was undertaken and the vehicle was stopped later. Unconfirmed reports suggest that the man in the car had been stabbed. A 39 year old male was take to hospital for treatment and a man, also aged 39, was arrested by police.

Armed police attended the scene and a spokesperson for South Yorkshire police said that there is an investigation into the incident, which is in the early stages while enquiries are ongoing in the region to determine just what happened.
